What Is A Life Coach?
Have you ever had a problem that you were not sure how to solve? Do you ask yourself these questions:
Who am I?
What should I do with my life?
How do I become a….?
How do I solve this problem?
Why can’t I seem to get it together?
How can I make my relationship better?
These are all questions a Life Coach can help you with. A football coach uses their expertise to help you improve your skills as an athlete. Similarly, a Life Coach can help you improve your problem-solving skills.
Life Coaches uses their expertise to help you focus on the goals you want to achieve. They also encourage you and help you overcome relationship, school or career challenges. If you don’t have any specific goals or just not sure what you want to do, a Life Coach can help. Young adults can benefit tremendously from life coaching.
Truthfully, you already have everything you need inside of you. A Life Coach helps you to block out the noise and focus inward to find those answers. Ultimately, he or she motivates and encourages you so that you can reach your full potential.

What A Life Coach Is Not
Understand that a Life Coach is not a mental health counselor. While a Life Coach will coach you to reach your life, relationship, and career goals, they are not a licensed mental health counselor, psychologist, or a psychiatrist.
If you are dealing with depression or having thoughts of suicide, you need to see a licensed mental health professional. Please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 or text HOME to 741741 to contact someone from the Crisis Text Line.
Once you are stable and ready to start working toward some achieving some goals for your life, a Life Coach can help guide you along the way.

What Do Life Coaching Sessions Look Like?
Life Coaching sessions differ based on the Life Coach and what you need help with. Typically, however, a session can be in the form of an individual session or a group coaching session.
Some Life Coaches will meet with their clients in person. Other Life Coaches offer distance coaching. Given the advances and advantages of technology, this is not uncommon. Usually all meetings, including the initial consultation take place either on the phone or online via Skype, FaceTime or some other online media. Some coaches also offer support between sessions usually via email.
